Our Mission

Working to protect teens and empower parents in a connected world

We never expected to be the faces of a movement. We were a normal family in Starkville, Mississippi, raising our four children with deep roots in our church, our schools, and our community. But on December 1, 2022, our world was shattered when our 16-year-old son, Walker, was targeted and stolen from us in less than four hours by an international financial sextortion ring. As we walked through the darkest valley of our lives, our faith did not falter—it gave us a directive. We realized that our values couldn’t just be a foundation for our home; they had to become a shield for others. Faith leads us to protect the hearts, minds, and innocence of youth in a hyper-connected world. Walker’s Mission is our vow to turn unimaginable pain into permanent purpose.

The Three Pillars of Our Mission

To effectively fight back against digital predators and shield the next generation, our mission focuses on three interconnected battlegrounds:

Empowering & Educating Parents

Many parents believe they are doing everything right—just as we did. But modern predators use sophisticated psychological manipulation that bypasses traditional boundaries.

  • The Goal: We dismantle the silence and stigma surrounding online blackmail. Through community forums, school presentations, and digital resources, we give parents the exact vocabulary, red flags, and technical insights they need to actively safeguard their homes.

Protecting & Equipping Teens

Teenagers—particularly young men—are being aggressively targeted by organized, international criminal syndicates. When caught in a scammer’s trap, the sudden panic and psychological terror can make them feel utterly hopeless.

  • The Goal: We want every teenager to know they are not alone, a mistake is not a life sentence, and money can always be replaced. We provide immediate, highly visible crisis resources on our platform, working to ensure that a child’s first instinct in a digital crisis is to reach out for help, not to give up.

Demanding Legal & Platform Accountability

Education is only half the battle; we must also change the environment in which our children live. For too long, social media conglomerates have prioritized profit over the safety designs of their platforms, while outdated laws left predators unpunished.

  • The Goal: We fight for systemic change. By channeling Walker’s memory into legislative advocacy, we successfully passed Walker’s Law (MS HB 1196) to heavily criminalize financial sextortion in Mississippi. Now, we are championing The Walker Montgomery Protecting Children Online Act (MS HB 2531) to force tech companies to take legal and financial responsibility for the exploitation happening on their networks.

The internet has brought the world to our children’s fingertips, but it has also brought predators into their bedrooms. We cannot police our way out of this after the fact—we must change the laws, change the platforms, and change the conversation.

We refuse to let predators operate in the shadows, and we refuse to let Walker’s light be put out. This is a fight for the minds and souls of our children, and we cannot do it alone. Whether you are a parent looking to protect your household, an educator wanting to bring awareness to your school, or a citizen demanding safer digital laws, there is a place for you here.

Together, we can build a connected world that is safer, wiser, and fiercely protective of its youth.
